Moroney Not Thought To Be Among Candidates To Be New GAA Director General

It’s understood Clare’s Simon Moroney is not among the candidates to replace Padraic Duffy as the GAA’s Ard Stuirithour.

The Eire Óg clubman had considered applying for the role after announcing he was standing down as Munster Council CEO, but it’s thought his name is not in the hat for the position.

It comes as G-A-A delegates from around the world are arriving for the Association’s Annual Congress which gets underway at Croke Park this evening.
