Clare joint hurling manager Donal Moloney says they were always confident of getting their season back on track in the All Ireland Quarter Final.

The Banner produced a composed performance to see off the challenge of Wexford in a 0-27 to 1-17 victory over a side led by former Clare boss Davy Fitzgerald.

It sets up a last four showdown against defending champions Galway in two weeks time in what will be Clare’s first appearance in Croke Park since 2013.

Meanwhile one of Clare’s key men says everyone knew exactly what was on the line.

Clonlara’s John Conlon says both sides took time to settle into the heat of battle.

The Banner will now take on Galway in Croke Park on Saturday July 28th with a 5pm start.

Limerick will take on Cork the next day after the Shannonsiders edged a titanic battle with Kilkenny by two points.
