The Banner were dealt an early blow at Pairc Ui Rinn last evening, when Dan McEoin netted for the Rebels after 15 minutes

However, Clare fought back throughout the first half, and trailed by a point at the break, 1-5 to 0-07.

Michael Neylon’s side couldn’t capitalise on their momentum in the second half however, and a second Cork goal from Stephen O’Mahony gave them a five-point win, 2-10 to 0-11.

Clare now go on to play Waterford who were hammered by Kerry last night.

The winners of that game will go onto play Limerick, who were beaten by Tipperary in last night’s other encounter.
