McIlroy takes Dubai Desert Classic

A final round of 70 has seen Rory McIlroy cruise to victory at the Dubai Desert Classic. 

The world number one topped the leaderboard on 22-under par, three clear of Sweden's Alex Noren.

Graeme McDowell did have a share of second at one point, but had to content himself with a tie for ninth on 14-under. 

Michael Hoey has ended the weekend on four under, a shot ahead of Peter Lawrie.

While Damien McGrane finished with a 76 to end the weekend on 3-over. 

 

Martin Laird will take a three-shot lead into the final round of the Phoenix Open later. 

The Scot is 13 under par, with the trio of Zach Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Hideki Matsuyama all on 10 under.
