Shane Long is set to miss the Republic of Ireland’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Austria next month.
It’s been confirmed the striker has suffered a broken bone in his foot which is likely to rule him out for 4 to 6 weeks.
Long was named in the provisional Irish squad for the game on Monday, before the severity of the injury became clear.
