Lohan Expresses Concern At Plans For Clare Club Championships

Clare’s senior hurling manager has expressed concern at proposals for the Clare Senior Hurling and Football Championships.

Club delegates are due to meet at Cusack Park this coming Monday to decide on the format of both competitions, with clubs pushing for changes to the draft master fixtures plan.

It’s reported that this could see the introduction of group stages in both codes and around five rounds of action in each.

However, speaking with Clare FM, Clare hurling manager Brian Lohan has expressed concern that this could see dual players forced to play on several consecutive weekends, while he’s also called for the competitions to be finished by September 20th to allow his side adequate time for preparation.
