Clare have drawn with Limerick in the second round of the Camogie Championship.

The Banner ladies welcomed neighbours Limerick to Sixmilebridge this afternoon, with each side hoping to recover from defeats to Galway and Kilkenny, respectively last weekend.

Niamh Mulcahy opened scoring for the visitors before Carol O’Leary channeled the sliotar to Niamh O’Dea to level the sides.

Four Chloe Morey points and a point apiece from Doireann Murphy and Captain Orlaith Duggan left Clare with seven on the scoreboard at half time, compared to Limerick’s four – thanks to Mulcahy’s three points and a Sarah Carey strike from play.

Limerick could have gone into the break tied with Clare, if not for the goal keeping efforts of Lauran Solon who saved a strong Niamh Mulchay shot.

Clare scored a single point in the second half – another Chloe Morey free – while three Mulchay set piece scores and a Caoimhe Costelloe point from play brought the sides to eight points apiece for the final whistle.

Full time score in Sixmilebridge: Clare 0-8, Limerick 0-8.

Clare move on to face Kilkenny at home in round 3 on July 14th, while Limerick face Waterford.
