Lahinch Woman Strikes Gold At World Transplant Games

A Lahinch woman has struck gold at the World Transplant Games.

Marie O’Connor from Lahinch was the winner in the golf competition in Malaga, her second medal of the event. She had won bronze in petanque on Monday.

Marie has had two kidney transplants in 1996 and 98, after an infection from a sore throat led to a virus attacking the lining of her kidney.
