The West Clare side extended their gap once again, but it was substitute Peter O’Dwyer who gave them breathing space when he hit the back of the net with five minutes of normal time left on the clock.

Six points behind, Clondegad began a charge again and scored three more points in quick succession to return the sides to a goal’s difference.

Nine minutes of extra time wasn’t enough for Clondegad to bridge the gap, as both sides scored a point apiece, and it finished Kilmurry Ibrickane 1-14, Clondegad 0-14.
