Kilmurray crowned Munster champs

Kilmurray Ibrickane have been crowned Munster football champions after a one point win over Kerins O Rahily’s in Limerick this afternoon.

The Clare champions battled to a 7 points to 6 win in the Gaelic Grounds having been level at half time.

The Kerry side played most of the second half with 14 men after Joe O Connor was sent off for 2 yellow cards in the space of 2 minutes at the beginning of the second half.

Evan Talty scored the winning point just 30 secionds after Rahilly’s had a goal disallowed for square ball in the last minute from Declan Quill

They will now play an All Ireland q-final against Tir Conail  Gaels of London on January the 24th.

 

In camogie news and Cashel beat Athenry today in the All Ireland club final in Clarecastle by 11 points to 9.

Shannon woman Laura Linnane was playing for the Galway side and scored 4 points  but the star of the day was Cashel’s Clare Grogan who scored 7 points.

It’s Cashels 2nd title in 3 years,having beaten Athenry in their previous success.
