Clare won’t feature in the Oscar Traynor final after defeat to Kilkenny this afternoon.

Donie Garrihy’s men were hoping to navigate past Kilkenny in the hopes of a third straight title.

Clare had home advantage for the semi-final tie but had several key players ruled out through injury, including Captain Stephen Kelly.

The sides went scoreless into half time, but a seventieth minute penalty kick gave the visitors the lead.

Clare equalised eight minutes later, also from the penalty spot through an Eoin Hayes strike.

However, an 89th minute goal from Kilkenny gave them the late advantage and it finished up 2-1.
