Jam packed weekend of Gaelic Games Action

There’s a busy weekend of Gaelic games in store across Clare this weekend, with action in football hurling and camogie.

In all there are eight games down for decision this weekend as the battle for the Jack Daly Cup gets underway.

The action begins at 2:00 tomorrow as Shannon Gaels play Kilmihil in Cooraclare – that’s followed by the clash of many people’s favourites Doonbeg and O’Currys at 3:30.

There’s two other double headers tomorrow – at Cusack Park, Cratloe will play St Joseph’s at 4:00, while Lissycasey play Ennistymon at 5:30.

Action in Doonbeg meanwhile gets underway at 6:30 with a game between Cooraclare and Kilrush, before St. Senan’s clash with Kilmurry Ibrickane in a repeat of last year’s final.  That game is at 8

The seventh game on Saturday sees Milltown St. Joseph’s play Liscannor in Quilty, beginning at 4.

The eighth and final game of the weekend then takes place on Sunday – Wolfe Tones and Eire Og clash at Cusack Park, with a 1:00 throw in.

 

Meanwhile there’s also four games in the intermediate championship, with two of those tonight

Clondegad play Ballyvaughan in Corofin, while O’Callaghan’s Mills take on Corofin in Clareabbey – both of those games are at 7:30.

Tomorrow Smith O’Brien’s play Whitegate in the County Senior Hurling Championship, while Clonlara take on Ballyea on Sunday while also this weekend the Clare senior camogie side are in action.

Patsy Fahy’s girls play Dublin in Blakestown at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon and he says they have big dreams for the year ahead.
