Injury Concerns For Ireland Ahead Of Serbia Showdown

Jeff Hendrick is out of the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup Qualifier against Serbia tomorrow while Aiden McGeady and Wes Hoolahan are both major doubts.

Hendrick is still troubled by the thigh injury that forced him to miss Saturday’s draw in Georgia.

McGeady is to have a scan on a hamstring injury while Hoolahan is struggling with a groin problem.

Serbia are now two points ahead of Ireland at the top of the Group D – with Wales two points behind us.

 

 

Seamus Coleman linked up with squad for training in Abbotstown today.

The Irish captain is playing a supporting role, as he continues to recover from the double leg fracture suffered during Ireland’s draw with Wales in March.

Coleman started light training with Everton last month, but a full recovery is not expected until the end of the year.

Northern Ireland will secure a second place finish in Group C and a likely play off spot, if they avoid defeat to the Czech Republic in Belfast this evening.
