The Captain of Clare’s Senior Hurling Team says its a great privilage to lead his side in to this weeks Munster Hurling Championship.

David McInerney is taking over for the injured John Conlon who suffered cruciate ligament damage.

The Banner are taking on Limerick this Sunday in the championship opener.

McInerney says he’s honoured to play his part.

Manager Brian Lohan has announced his starting team, Tony Kelly joins McInerney in midfield while Ryan Taylor, Cathal Malone, and Shane O’Donnell make up the forward line.

Limerick Manager John Kiely has named his squad which includes the untouched half-forward line from the 2018 All-Ireland championship of Hegarty, Hayes and Morrissey.
