Clare joint hurling manager Gerry O’Connor says they’ll gather the troops ahead of Sunday’s Munster League meeting with Waterford in Dungarvan.

The Banner must beat the hosts to qualify for next week’s final after Waterford’s 1-24 to 1-18 victory over Cork last Wednesday.

That result gives Padraic Fanning’s team a superior scoring difference means a draw will be enough to see them into the decider on January 13th.

Colin Guilfoyle’s goal and late points from Niall Deasy, Ryan Taylor and Cathal McInerney saw them hit 1-3 unanswered in Cusack Park last Saturday in their 1-20 to 0-21 victory over the Rebels.

Clare’s joint hurling manager Gerry O’Connor has said the Munster League gives players lacking game time the opportunity to stake a claim.

Clare travel to Tipperary in Semple Stadium on January 26th and O’Connor said they basically give fringe players an opportunity to stake a claim.
