Senior and Intermediate Hurling Round Two Draws This Evening

The draws for Round Two of the senior and intermediate championships will be made this evening.

All 16 clubs in both competitions will go back into the hat but they’ll be separated into winners and losers pots.

In the senior championship – Ballyea, Clonlara, Cratloe, Crusheen, Éire Óg, Feakle, Inagh/Kilnamona and Sixmilebridge – are in Round 2A and will be drawn into four pairings. The winners will advance to the quarter-finals. The losers will get another chance in Round 3.

In Round 2B – Clarecastle, Clooney/Quin, Kilmaley, O’Callaghan’s Mills, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Tulla, Whitegate and Wolfe Tones – will also be paired together. The four winners will qualify for Round 3 but for the losers, their championship dreams will be over and they’ll have to prepare for the relegation play-offs.

The same format applies for the intermediate championship.

Round 2A will be contested by Broadford, Corofin, Inagh/Kilnamona, Parteen, Scariff, Smith O’Brien’s, St. Joseph’s Doora/Barefield and Tubber.

Round 2B will see Bodyke, Clarecastle, Cratloe, Éire Óg, Killanena, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Ruan and Sixmilebridge lock horns.
