Fergal Lynch’s charges rallied in the closing stages before Sean Ronan and Cormac Murphy’s winner overturned a deficit.

The Banner led 0-12 to 0-6 at half-time as Conner Hegarty, Killian O’Connor, Shane Meehan, Diarmaid Cahill and Cormac Murphy found the target.

And they stretched that lead to seven within five minutes of the restart as two Shane Meehan frees overturned a Jack Cahalane minor.

But on 41 minutes, it all changed quickly as Darragh Flynn struck two goals inside 60 seconds.

And substitute Daire O’Leary added a brace of white flags to give Cork a 2-9 to 0-14 advantage.

Clare were under pressure and Aaron Shanahan produced a quality save as the teams traded four scores to leave Cork in front by 2-11 to 0-16 entering the final moments.

A draw wasn’t enough for Clare and Sean Ronan levelled. But injury time, Cormac Murphy nailed the winner.

The result guarantees the Banner a Munster Final against Limerick and a place in the All-Ireland series.
