Clare’s minor hurlers began the trip to the South East on the right note with a two-point win over Waterford.
Fergal Lynch’s team edged in front during the latter part of both halves as they ran out 0-17 to 0-15 winners in Walsh Park.
For a side containing eight under 16s, the result was a major boost and sets them up nicely for the meeting with Tipperary in three weeks.
