Clonlara won a fiery opening contest against O’Callaghan’s Mills in Sixmilebridge on Saturday by 1-18 to 1-10.
Three players saw red but a strong finish including Colm Galvin’s goal ensured the victors their eight-point win.
The result was a boost for Clonlara having failed to reach last year’s quarter-finals after coming close to glory in recent seasons.
