The eight teams contesting this evening’s quarter-final draw are known after this weekend’s games.
Kilmihil booked their place on Saturday in Cooraclare after beating Kilrush Shamrocks by 5-11 to 1-13.
And Lissycasey led throughout their 60 minutes against Corofin in a 1-16 to 0-12 victory in Cusack Park.
Lissycasey manager Ger Kelly says they particularly focused on their shooting for this game.
The second contest Saturday in Cusack Park saw Éire Óg cement their place as Group 4 winners with a 3-17 to 0-17 victory over Clondegad.
Anything less than an eight point loss would be sufficient to qualify but selector Stephen McNamara states they were trying not to think about that.
In yesterday evening’s game between Cooraclare and Doonbeg, it finished level. Doonbeg 1-14 to Cooraclare 0-17. However, Doonbeg go forward based on scoring difference.
The four winners join St. Joseph’s Miltown Malbay, Kilmurry/Ibrickane, Ennistymon and Cratloe in the final eight.
