Clare GAA Request Gardaí To Investigate Social Media Abuse Towards Officers

Clare GAA have requested that Gardaí investigate abuse on social media aimed at their Secretary Pat Fitzgerald and other senior officers.

County Board Chairman Joe Cooney has confirmed to the Irish Independent that a complaint about the abuse has been filed with Gardaí.

The issue has been raised at recent county board meetings while media and non-delegates were asked to leave the recent October meeting so the matter could be discussed further.

Clare’s executive came in for heightened criticism during the recent process to find a new Senior Hurling manager, with former All-Ireland winner Brian Lohan eventually appointed.
