Truagh Clonlara overcame County Champions Inagh Kilnamona on Saturday evening in Fr McNamara Park. A first half penalty from Aine O’Loughlin was blasted to the back of the Inagh Kilnamona net to see the South East outfit go in at the break 1-11 to 0-5.

The County Champions rallied in the second half adding points to reduce the deficit, their goal coming in the closing five minutes but Truagh Clonlara ran out winners with three points to spare and now top Group A.

Truagh/Clonlara manager Eddie Dillon chatted to Clare FM’s Brid McNamara afterwards.

NOTE: Inagh Kilnamona last defeat in the Clare Senior Championship was in Oct 2015. Truagh Clonlara drew Inagh Kilnamona in 2018 Championship Group game.

Tilly Baker All Ireland Camogie 7s

Shield

Whitegate qualified for the semi final following 3 win from 3 in the group stages. However defeat in the semi final saw them exit the competition at the penultimate stage.

Plate

Tulla won all three of their Group games in Plate competition and faced Naomh Treasa in the final. The Tyrone outfit ran out winners 5-4 to 1-7.

All Ireland U17 Inter Provincial

Munster retained their U17 All Ireland title on Saturday afternoon with wins over Leinster, Connacht and Ulster. In the Cup Final they met Connacht again and repeated their earlier win on a final scoreline of Munster 3-5 Connacht 1-6.

Clare had 6 players on the panel of 22; Alanna Meaney St Josephs, Elena Sanz Banner, Jodie Cahill Kilmaley, Johanna Fogarty Feakle, Megan O’Connor Cratloe and Susan O’Shea Broadford, with Scariff Ogonnelloes John Daly as a selector.
