Brian Lohan has been confirmed as the new manager of the Clare Senior Hurlers.

The Wolfe Tones clubman has been appointed in the role on a two-year term, with the option of a third year, following the completion of a review at the end of the second year.

Ken Ralph and James Moran have been confirmed as his selectors – they worked with Lohan when he won the Fitzgibbon Cup with UL in 2015.

Lohan brings a strong pedigree from his playing days with Clare, having won four All-Star awards and two All-Ireland winners medals.

His appointment brings an end to the long running saga which now sees him replace Donal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor.

Tonight’s county board meeting also saw Brian Coffey appointed as Clare Minor Hurling manager, replacing Fergal Lynch.

Sean Doyle remains on as Under 20s boss.
