Formats for GAA Championships To Be Unveiled Tomorrow

Clare will find out their fate in the Munster Hurling Championship tomorrow evening.

The GAA will tomorrow unveil their plans for the 2020 All Ireland Championships, and it’s expected that the round-robin system will be replaced with the 2017 format of an open draw among the five participating teams.

There will be a backdoor system for teams after their first loss, but that won’t be the case for Gaelic Football.

Colm Collins’ side are expected to face Tipperary in their opening game, as had been planned before lockdown, with the Munster and All-Ireland Football Championships running on a straight knockout basis.
