FAI Fires Back In Irish Women’s Team

The FAI say they’re extremely disappointed at the women’s team’s threat to withdraw from next week’s game with Slovakia.

The players say its a last ditch attempt to obtain better treatment.

Among their grievances, the players say that non-professionals receive no payment for lost earnings while playing for their country, and that tracksuits have to be shared with underage teams.

In response, the FAI say there have been five occasions in which they attempted to engage the players in discussions, only to be knocked back on each occasion.
