Ennistymon have edged past Doonbeg in a tight and exciting encounter in the Clare Senior Football Championship.
After a nervy opening, four straight points from the North Clare outfit gave them a 0-6 to 0-2 lead at half time in Miltown Malbay.
Doonbeg had been reduced to 14 for a time in the first half, because of a black card, and then had the same problem in the second half.
But that didn’t stop them fighting back, and they managed to reduce arrears to one point by the second half water break.
The game stayed tight thereafter, but Doonbeg could not draw level and the North Claremen ran out 0-11 to 0-10 winners.
Cillian Rouine scored seven points for Ennistymon, while Eoin Conway was sent off for Doonbeg in the closing stages
