An Ennis based national athletics Champion says he’s found the perfect balance between studying and athletics.
16-year-old Dean Casey has taken silverware for both St Flannans College and Ennis Track Athletics Club – and was crowned November’s Clare FM Sports Star of the Month for his U18 Cross Country title win.
Casey is a transition year student at Flannans and, while he still has two years of study to go before his Leaving Cert, says he hopes he can win a scholarship to help him into a college in America where he can continue his athletic career in third level.
