Douvan Loses Out In Cheltenham Shocker

There’s been a huge shock on day two at Cheltenham.

Odds-on favourite Douvan was comfortably beaten into seventh in the feature race of the day – the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained Special Tiara led from start to finish to win at a price of 11-to-1.

Gordon Elliott’s had a fourth winner of the Festival.

Cause of Causes was a comortable winner of the Cross Country at 4-to-1. Derek O’Connor of Tubber was on board Colour Squadron in that one, and failed to place.

Earlier, the favourite, Might Bite won the RSA Novices Chase at a price of 7-to-2, despite an almost catastophic stumble at the last.

16-to-1 shot Supasundae claimed the Coral Cup, and 14-to-1 shot Willoughby Court claimed the first race of the day – the Novices Hurdle.
