Details Announced For 2018 Munster GAA Competitions

The Clare senior hurlers and footballers will begin their new year on December 30th.

Munster GAA last night confirmed both pre season competitions will go ahead despite reduced numbers taking part.

Clare will face just Cork and Waterford in the McGrath Cup in a three team round robin group with the top two going to the final.

The Munster Hurling League will feature Clare, Limerick, Cork and Kerry in four team round robin group with the top two also going to the final.

The footballers start at home to Waterford while the hurling draw is due to take place on December 8th

Clare will open their Munster U21 Hurling championship campaign against the current All Ireland champions.

Limerick make the trip to Ennis on May 9th for a quarter final tie with the winners travelling to Thurles to take on Tipperary in the last four.

Meanwhile the U20 footballers will have a home semi final against either Tipperary or Cork with a date for that game to be confirmed.

The 2018 Munster Minor Hurling championship will be on a round robin basis with the games being played as a curtain raiser to the senior ties between the respective counties.

A format has yet to be decided for the Munster Minor Football series
