Defeat for Footballers but Hurlers through to Waterford Crystal Final

It’s been a weekend of mixed fortunes for the county’s hurling and football sides with a division four league defeat to Fermanagh while Davy Fitzgerald’s hurlers are through to the Waterford Crystal final.

Clare lost in Brewster park to Peter Canavan’s side by 11 points to 0-08-despite leading 5 points to 0-02 at the break.

Clare manager Micheál Mc McDermott felt his  side paid the price for not killing the game off when they had the chance:

However it was better news for the county’s hurlers who beat Waterford in Walsh Park by  3-17 to 4-09.

They will enjoy home advantage against Tipperary in the final after they overcame Cork after extra time.

No date or venue for that game has been announced by the Munster Council.
