Clare have opened their 2018 National Camogie League campaign with defeat.
A dominant second half performance from Kilkenny saw them take a 1-13 to 1-3 win in Clonlara.
The visitors to Clonlara were 0-3 to 0-2 in front midway through the half after a tight opening period.
Chloe Morey then sent the Banner into the lead as she found the net from long range to leave it 1-2 to 0-3 in favour of the home side.
She added another point before the break with Kilkenny pulling one back to trail by two at half time.
The Cats came out roaring in the second period and hit eight unanswered points to go 0-12 to 1-3 clear.
Aoife Doyle then rattled the Banner net to put her side 9 points clear and put the game beyond any doubt, with another point for the Cats stretching that lead even further.
