County’s finest prepare for Jack Daly Cup action

16 of the county’s finest clubs are preparing to begin battle for the Jack Daly Cup, with a full round of County Championship games taking place this weekend.

Among the sides vying for glory this year is Cratloe – they won the intermediate football championship last year as well as the senior hurling championship.

Cratloe’s opening game of the season is against St. Joseph’s Doora Barefield and despite last year’s long season, their manager Colm Collins is confident that his men are ready to go

Meanwhile

Kilrush Shamrocks will be looking to build on last year’s performance which saw them reach the semi-finals of the championship.

They take on Cooraclare this Saturday, looking for a repeat of the win they got over the same side in last year’s group stage.

The sides have been drawn in group 3, alongside many people’s favourites Doonbeg and O’Currys, but Shamrocks manager Aidan Daly denies that his men are feeling any pressure.
