The Clare Senior Football Championship is getting underway this Saturday afternoon, with the clash of Éire Óg and Kilrush Shamrocks.

It’s the first of six Senior Championship games across the weekend, with all of today’s games being held at Cusack Park.

Of course, today’s action will be like none before it in the competition, with no fans present for the game. Éire Óg manager Paul Madden doesn’t think that will have a big bearing on proceedings

Later at 4:00, Lissycasey play Cratloe.

Last year, Cratloe reached the semi-finals before losing out to Kilmurry Ibrickane by just two points.

Manager Colm Collins thinks today’s game will be a close encounter.

The stand-out tie of the weekend then takes place at 7pm this evening when Kilmurry Ibrickane look to dethrone last year’s county champions, St. Joseph’s Miltown Malbay.

It took a replay to seperate both sides at the same venue last October, and while the stakes aren’t as high this time around, both teams will be keen to secure a victory that should give them a more straight-forward path into the semi-finals.

Kilmurry boss Aidan ‘Horse Moloney’ admits preparations haven’t been ideal, but he and his team are looking forward to today

Throw in in that game is at 7pm tonight, and we’ve full live commentary here on Clare FM.

We’ll also keep you up to date on the other action on this, our Super Football Weekend, which is brought to you in association with Flan O Neill Building Supplies and Tool Hire, Smithstown. Shannon.
