The standout tie of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Finals comes as defending champions Sixmilebridge are set to face last year’s Intermediate Champions Broadford.

The draw was made following a county board meeting last night and will see a local derby between Ballyea and Kilmaley while Inagh Kilnamona take on O’Callaghans Mills and Feakle are waiting to face the winner of Cratloe and Éire Óg.

Journalist Gerry Quinn has told Clare FM’s podcast, ‘Talking Balls’, that he can’t see Sixmilebridge getting knocked out at this stage.

In the Senior B section, the loser from the postponed match will face Clonlara, Whitegate will take on Clarecastle, Wolfe Tones play Newmarket On Fergus and last year’s Senior B Champions Clooney Quin are against Crusheen.

Clare GAA PRO Michael O’Connor sees merits in each matchup of Round 2 but feels that Éire Óg are the team to watch going forward.

In the Intermediate Draw, Bodyke take on St Joseph’s, Sixmilebridge’s Inters will play Tubber, Scariff face Tulla and Smith O’Briens will wait to play the winner of the postponed Cratloe and Corofin.
