Cork Overcome Clare In Munster Minor Hurling Clash

Cork have beaten Clare in the opening clash the Banner’s Munster Minor Hurling campaign.

First blood went to Cork but two quick goals from Scarriff’s Mark Rodgers in the third and seventh minute handed Clare the lead.

Cork slotted over a flurry of points in response before a third goal returned Clare to a three point lead.

The half time mark saw Clare with a two point lead with a scoreline of 3-7 to 0-14.

Cork were the stronger side of the second half, however and a 14-man Clare side found it difficult to break through Cork’s defence.

Full time score in Pairc Ui Chaoimh was Clare 3-13, Cork 0-26.

Sean Doyle’s side will welcome Waterford to Cusack Park in the opening of a minor/senior double header on Sunday, May 27th.
