Convention set to be the scene of intense debate

The issue of the county senior hurling manger,the format of the county football and hurling championships as well as rule changes will all be up for discussuion tonight at the Clare Gaa annunal convention.

The meeting will hear from Co Secretary Pat fitzgerald and Treasurer Bernard keane who will  be presenting reports on the state of clare gaa  on and off the field respectivly.

Keanes report is set to show that despite a diffcult economic year Clare gaa will end 2009 in the black to the tune of 200k euro,a significant increase on the 2008 figure while Fitzgeralds report concerns the current championship system in the county.

It is also  expected that Ger O Loughlin will be offically ratified as new hurling boss.
