Clare football boss Colm Collins feels their McGrath Cup campaign served as good preperation ahead of the start of the National League.

A strong second half display from the Banner looked to have given them a first title in the competition in a decade before a goal for Cork at the death saw them take a 3-13 to 3-12 win in Saturday’s decider.

Thoughts will now turn to the visit of Cavan to Cusack Park on Saturday week for the first game in Division Two of the League with the likes of Gary Brennan, David Tubridy and Eoin Cleary all in line to make their first appearances of the season.
