Clare’s Jonathan McGrath has missed out on his heat for the Men’s S-8 100 metres at the World Para Swimming Allianz European Championships in Dublin.
The Killaloe native arrived three minutes late for his call up, meaning he was disqualified from the hear.
However, his hopes for silverware haven’t been completely dashed as he’s still in contention for the 50 metre S-8 freestyle events.

He will also be in action later this week in the 100 metre and 50 metre backstoke.
McGrath is part of an eight strong Irish contingent for the games which is the first major major International Para sporting event to be hosted in Ireland.
