Clare have opened their National Camogie League campaign with a commanding win over Offaly.

Ger O’Connell’s side made the trip to Birr this afternoon to take on an Offaly side they haven’t met too often in recent years.

The home side took an early lead before Mairead Teehan hit the back of the Clare net to extend their lead.

However, it wasn’t long before Eimear Kelly raised the green flag in the Offaly goal – and that was followed in the second half by an Aine O’Loughlin strike which cemented the win for the Banner.

Full time score inĀ Birr was Clare 2-7, Offaly 1-3.
