Clare Kick Off Munster Minor Football In Style

Clare began the Munster Minor Football Championship with a 3-15 to 0-10 victory over Limerick in their opening game of the Round-Robin phase.

Three goals after a slow start put the Banner to the front and another win will book their place in the Phase 1 Final.

Clare got off to the perfect start in this year’s Munster Minor Football Championship with a comfortable 3-15 to 0-10 result in Newcastle West against Limerick.

Goals for Jamie Stack, Diarmuid Fahy and Eoin Talty ensured Dermot Coughlan’s charges didn’t have any problems at the final whistle.

Limerick led 0-5 to 0-2 before Clare finally settled into proceedings hitting 1-5 unanswered.

Shane Meehan and Brendan Rouine were involved in Jamie Stack’s 16th minute goal and further points for Dara Nagle, Jamie Stack and Shane Meehan gave the Banner a 1-7 to 0-6 interval lead.

Eliah Riordan and Shane O’Donoghue allowed Limerick reduce arrears but their relief was shortlived.

Diarmuid Fahy finished off the second goal on 40 minutes before substitute Eoin Talty got the third major in the final minute.

Clare now play Tipperary, who were 4-13 to 0-7 winners against Waterford, in Cusack Park next Wednesday.
