Clare go down to Waterford in Munster semi final

 Clare have been beaten in their Munster semi final by Waterford on a final scoreline of 1-15 to 22 points.

Clare started off brightly and led by 8 points to three after 20 minutes thanks to scores from John Conlon, Sean Collins and two from Nicky O Connell at midfield.

Clare were then given a huge boost when Darach Honan struck for a goal after 33 minutes to send clare in at half time leading by 1-10 to 9 points.

However Waterford dominated in the second period and with the two Prendergast brothers Declan and Seamus  coming off the bench as well as  Ken Mc Grath pegged Clare back and took the lead in the 47th minute which they never relinquished though  the sides were level 5 times in the second half.

Clare now go into the qualifers while Waterford will play either Cork or Limerick in the Munster final.

There was more disappointment for the Clare intermediate side as they lost to Waterford by 1-13 to 13 points also in Semple stadium.
