Clare Fall Just Short Against Kildare

Kildare have been promoted into Division 1A after just edging out Clare in Newbridge on a score of 18 points to 1-14.

It went down to the wire in Kildare with both sides trading points in the final minutes.

Clare knew victory would see them all but secure their place in Division Two.

A Shane Brennan goal just after the break brought Clare right into the game but Kildare refused to give in an came out winners by a single point.

Elsewhere, Cork picked up a vital 0-20 to 2-10 win over Derry at Celtic Park. Galway beat Down and Meath defeated Fermanagh.
In Division 1, Seanie Johnston’s last gasp free earned a point for Cavan as it finished Cavan 1-10 Kerry 0-13 at Breffni Park.

Kevin McLoughlin’s late score earned Mayo a crucial win 1-10 to 0-12 in Omagh.

It finished Donegal 1-11 Monaghan 1-11 in Ballyshannon.
