Clare Camogie – Truagh/Clonlara 3-7 Sixmilebridge 2-5

In what turned out to be very tough conditions with gale force winds blowing the Sixmilebridge played Truagh Clonlara in Round 3 of the Div 1 League.

Sixmilebridge had their opening score with a point from Chloe Morey from a free, a goal followed very quickly when Clonlara found the back of the Bridge net in a deflection which goalie Sarah Loughnane had no chance to save.

A point followed in twelfth minute with a free from Chloe Morey, and Clonlara responed in kind. Morey was on target once again with a point from another free in the 21st minute. And again Clonlara followed suit with a point. In the the final minute of the first half Morey converted another free to leave the half time score Sixmilebridge 0-3 Truagh Clonlara 1-2.

With the conditions continuing to have a major effect on the game the Bridges Morey found the back of Clonlaras net from a free just four minutes into the second half. Clonlara replied with five points on the bounce. Morey was on target again puting the ball over the bar from a free with eight minutes remaining.

The last few minutes saw each side raise a green flag, Clonlara gaoling first before Morey followed with another free which resulted in another goal for the home side. Clonlara in the dying minutes got the last score of the day, another green flag to ensure they took the victory.
