Clare Camogie – St. Joseph’s 8-7 Clooney-Quin/Banner 1-6

St. Josephs had a comprehensive win over amalgamation Clooney/Quin/ Banner in cold conditions in Clooney on Friday evening.

Amy Lenihan and Marie Keating traded points to open the scoring. Keira McGrath and Becky Devine both struck for goal mid way through the half for the Parish. Marie Keating pointed before St. Josephs responded with points from McGrath, Saidhbh O’ Brien and Becky Devine to close out the half on a scoreline 2-4 to 0-2.

Clooney/Quin/Banner opened the second half with a point. Aisling Reidy goaled to the Clooney net from a free with Amy Lenihan and Hannah O’ Brien exchanging points. Becky Devine handpassed a goal to the net before Clooney/ Quin/ Banner tagged on two points.

From here on in, St. Josephs scored 4-2 without reply from Saidhbh O’Brien (1-0), Keira McGrath, (1-0), Becky Devine (2-0), Amy Lenihan (0-1) and Muireann Collins (0-1). Moya Dunne replied with a goal for the home side in the final minutes but it was the visitors who left with the points.
