Clare beaten by Dublin in All Ireland Qualifer

 

Anthony Daly got the upper hand on former Clarecastle team-mate Ger ‘Sparrow’ O’Loughlin in today’s hurling qualifier at Croke Park.

Dublin ran out 2-22 to 0-15 point winners over Clare in phase two of the qualifiers, with second-half goals from Peter Kelly and Simon Lambart for Dublin.

Clare trailed at half time but had brought Dublin to within  a single point before Kelly’s goal fter a mistake from Donal Tuohy handed back the iimpetus  to Dublin in the second half.

GAELIC GAMES / FOOTBALL:

The future of Joe Kernan as manager of the Galway footballers is under the spotlight this evening. The Tribesmen were knocked out of this years championship following a 1-11 to 13 points defeat to Wexford at Pearse Stadium.

Cork were easy 1-19 to 0-4 winners over Cavan in the second-round of the football qualifiers at Pairc Ui Chaoimh today.
