The uncertainty of the Clare under 21 hurling championships should be resolved this evening after under 17s were deemed ineligible at last weekend’s Annual Congress.

The rule book stated the grade should have a five-year age span but Croke Park have interpreted that all players must be 17 years or older since January 1st.

The local draws have already taken place but some clubs may seek regrading while delegates will be asked to vote on reducing the B competition to 13-a-side.
