Yesterday,

Newmarket had a 12 points to 1-06 victory over Kilkishen in their Senior Championship Clash.

A last minute trio of points from Newmarket’s Niki Kaiser clinched this opening round tie for the County Champions in a tightly contested match.

Newmarket led by a solitary point at the break, and the sides were level on 3 occasions through the second half before Newmarket managed to pull away in the closing stages,

Kaiser picking off the points as Claire Baker proved unbreachable in the Kilkishen goals.

In other action yesterday:

Crusheen overcame Whitegate 2-10 to 9 points in the Intermediate Championship 

And in the Junior Championship it ended Kilmaley 2-08 Ballyea 4-06  while Feakle  had a 2-10 to 1-03 win over Killanena
