Busy Weekend For Clare Soccer Clubs

Shannon Town will bid to reach the quarter finals of the FAI Junior Cup for the first time in their history on Sunday.

Donal Magee’s side take on Kilkenny’s Evergreen FC at Frank Healy Park in Doora as they look to join Newmarket Celtic in the last eight.

The current Clare league champions edged a dramatic tie in the last 16 with a 93rd minute goal seeing them beat Dublin side Oliver Bond.

It’s a busy weekend all round for Clare soccer with three other clubs in action in cup competitions.

In the Munster Junior Cup, Newmarket Celtic host Everton FC at McDonagh Park while Mullagh is the venue for Sporting Ennistymon’s clash with Pike Rovers.

Elsewhere Park United of Ennis will look to reach the semi finals of the Girls under 16 National Cup.

They host Listowel on Sunday in Lees Road.

All those games start at 2pm
