2020 South of Ireland Golf Championship Is Cancelled

This year’s South of Ireland Championship at Lahinch has been cancelled.

For the first time in almost a century, the competition will not go ahead, the GUI has announced.

The Union says detailed consideration was given to rescheduling prior to the decision, and has thanked Lahinch Golf Club for its support.

The other provincial championships, and the Flogas Irish Amateur Open, have also been cancelled.

Lahinch was also due to host this year’s Arnold Palmer Cup competition but will instead do so in 2024.
