2 Munster men in test side to face South Africa

Paul O’Connell and David Wallace are part of a 5 strong Irish contingent for the first Lions test against South Africa on Saturday.

O’Connell captains the side while Wallace has won his battle with Welsh flanker Martin Williams for the Number 7 Jersey.

Jamie Heaslip is named at number 8 while Brian O’Driscoll and Tommy Bowe are named as expected among the backs.

The team in full is a front row of Gethin Jenkins, Lee Mears and Phil Vickery. O’Connell and Alan Wyn Jones complete the tight 5 with a back row of Tom Croft, Jamie Heaslip and David Wallace.

Welsh half backs Mike Phillips and Stephen Jones are at 9 & 10 while Jamie Roberts and Brian O’Driscoll combine in midfield. Ugo Monye and Tommy Bowe are on the wings while Lee Byrne is at full back.
